Welcome - Appalachian Grapplers

About Us

We started Appalachian Grapplers in 2024 to give Mt. Airy an affordable place to train submission grappling in all its forms - no fluff, just people who love being on the mats.

No contracts, no ego, no nonsense. Show up, train hard, get better.

What We Are

NoGi focus. Jiu Jitsu with Wrestling and Judo mixed in.
Old-school. Submissions over scoring points.
Deep bench. Multiple instructors, each with their own game, plus regular guest experts.
Team comps. We compete together about 3x a year.
Informal. Respectful, but no rituals or formalities.
Cross-train. Train at other gyms and bring back what you learn.
